Said to be operating in-, a small way Frederick (Jordon Pennell, aged 32, butcher, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to a charge of carrying on the business of a bookmaker. Chief Detective Hammond said that the accused was not a bookmaker in the real sense. He endeavoured to increase his income by betting with customers who visited his shop. A fine of £lo was imposed.
