PALMERSTON NOTES

(From Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, June 29. The annual railway ball was held in the Town Hall, Palmerston, on Wednesday last, ICO couples being on the floor. The grand march was led off by Mr and Mrs G. Cooper. The music was supplied by the Mexicano Orchestra from Dunedin, which gave every satisfaction. The catering was in the hands of Mr A. M'Gregor. The success of the ball was due to the energetic committee under the leadership of Messrs Cooper and Harrison (chairman and secretary. The duties of M.C.’s. were carried out lv> Messrs Male, Dreavcr, Mitchell, and Elliott, who kept the dancers going till the early hours of the morning. Up to date this has been the most successful ball held in Palmerston,
