YESTERDAY’S PROCEEDINGS. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. (Abridged from Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 29. The House met at 2.30 p.m. UNEMPLOYMENT. Mr P. Fraser (Wellington Central) gave notice of his intention to introduce an Unemployed Workers Bill, Mr W. E. Parry Auckland Central) » asked the Prime Minister if he -was aware that unemployed men were sleeping under the Grafton bridge and in the Domain in 'Auckland, and if he would make provision for a grant towards the cost of a sleeping house to accommodate about 100 men. Mr Coates replied that he was not acquainted with the position. Mr Parry: It is in the daily papers. Mr Coates said he had not had the matter brought to his notice, but he would be glad to do what he could in the way of finding work for the unemployed. So far as Auckland was concerned, up to date work had be-m found for 900 men, and instructions had been given to provide work for some 250 or 300 more. DAYLIGHT SAVING. On the motion of Mr T. K. Sicley (Dunedin South), the Summer Time Bill was introduced and read a first time. The second reading was fixed for July 25. IMPREST SUPPLY BILL. By Governor-Genera I’s Message the Imprest Supply Bill No. 1 was. introduced and read a first time. The sum appropriated by the Bill is £2,937,000. The motion to go into Committee of Supply was intercepted by Mr M. J. Savage (Auckland West), who moved an amendment on the subject of unemployment and the rates of relief pay.
