RAILWAY APPEAL BOARD.
SITTING IN DUNEDIN. The Railway Appeal Board continued its sittings in Dunedin yesterday; present—Messrs J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M. (chairman), F. Lindsay (departmental representative), and V. R. J. Stanley (representative of the First D:v;sion). The board disallowed the appeal of E. H. Langford, station master, Hampden, whose case had been hoard on Monday. C. H. E. Gerard, booking clerk, Dunedin .station, and until recently stationmaster at Milton, appealed against his non-appointment to the position of station master at Milton, which position has lately been increased in grade. Mr R. Hampton appeared for the appellant; Mr J. Brown for the department. The board heard the facts, after which it reserved its decision. L. Hayman, clerk, Dunedin passenger station, appealed against supercession by several members promoted from grade 7 to grade 6, who were previously junior to him. Mr Hampton appeared for the appellant; Mr Brown for the department. After hearing statements and considering the case, the board disallowed the appeal. This concluded the board’s sitting in Dunedin.
