THE LICENSING ISSUE.

NOT A PARTY QUESTION. OFFICIAL LABOUR ATTITUDE. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, June 12. “ The Labour Party shares with other prlitical parties the view that the licensing question is outside the realm of party politics, and that the determination of the questions on this issue is a matter for the individual members,” said Mr M. J. Savage, M.P., -when his attention was drawn to the report from Wellington that a Labour Anti-liquor League bad been formed with the object of influencing public opinion at the next general election. “ I do not attach any weight at all to the report,” Mr Sava'ge continued, “ for if such a league w r ere formed by any section of the Labour Party it would be doing what every other section of the party has been seeking to avoid —that is, making the licensing issue a party question.”
