ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
CAR COLLIDES WITH TRAIN. (Pee United Press Association.) ROTORUA, June 11. A motor car driven by Henry _ Ingram and owned by W. Ingram ran into the incoming train at the Eanolf street level crossing at noon to-day. The car, which was badly smashed, was dragged to the cattle stop. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was practically uninjured. The failure of the brakes is stated to have been the cause of the accident. WOMAN FOUND DEAD. (Peb United Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, June 11. Florence Maud Wood, aged 58, ried, was found dead in the Manunui school grounds yesterday morning with her throat cut and a razor alongside the bodv, which was lying in a pool of blood. The woman, who was fully dressed, left home about 6 o’clock on Saturday night, and later a search was made fo r her. The body was found by the schoolmaster. MOTORS IN COLLISION. (Peb L t nited Press Association.) WELLINGTON. June 11. Two motors collided at the corner of Willis and Manse streets, and both were completely wrecked. Four of the occupants were taken to hospital, but none is seriously hurt. One vehicle had the body almost stripped from the chassis. INJURED IN MOTOR ACCIDENT. (Peb United Press Association.) NELSON, June 11. As a result of a motor car driven bv Cyril Nicoll striking a telegraph pole, a young man, John Howatt, an occupant of 'the car, suffered grave internal injuries. It is stated that the driver was dazzled by the lights of an approaching car. THROWN FROM MOTOR CAR. (Per United Press Association.) OAMARU, June 11. Owing to the capsize of a motor car at Kurow yesterday, Rowland Fraser, William Adams, and David Russel' were iniured, and were admitted to the Oamaru Hospital. DEATH FROM BURNS. (Per United Press Association.) INVERCARGILL. June 11. Mrs W. R. Keach. aged 52, of Winton, who was severely burned through her clothes catching fire, died in the hospital without regaining consciousness, KNOCKED DOWN BY COW. Whilst engaged in trucking cattle at the railway yards early yesterday morning James Ferguson, a storeman, 49 years of age, employed by Dalgety and Co., Ltd., and residing in Opoho road, was knocked down by a cow, and was taken to the Hospital* suffering from injuries to the head. His condition, however, is not considered to he serious.
