WELLINGTON DEFEATS WEST. LAND. (Feb United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, June 4. On a fairly heavy ground Wellington outplayed Westland to-day in the first representative “ soccer ” match of the season, Wellington winning by 7 goals to 3. Westland played better in the second half than in the first. The score at half time was Wellington 6, Westland 2. Fletcher, the Wellington goalkeeper, played a great game.

CANTERBURY DEFEATS SOUTH CANTERBURY. (Peb. United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. June 4. At Association football Canterbury beat South Canterbury by 3 goals to 1. The scorers for Canterbury were Wilson and Cullen (2). Allington scored South Canterbury’s goal.

Y.M.C.A. journeyed to Seacliff yesterday to play their postponed match against the Hospital team, and were defeated by 11 goals to 3, Hooper being responsible for no fewer than seven of the winners’ goals.
