The visitors were more at home on the soft ground after overnight rain, and had recovered from the effects of the voyage. They gave a much better display and used their superior weight to advantage. In the first few minutes they led by 8 points to nil, but the local players then settled down and fought every inch, and at half time the score was; — England 10 points. New South Wales 9 points. After the interval the visitors forced the pace, and finished comfortable winners.—Australian Press Association.
