GLAND OPERATIONS
DR VORONOFFS METHODS. COPIED BY OTHER SURGEONS. (United Press Association.) <By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, May 25. (Received May 25, at 11 p.m.) Dr Voronoll states that simple monkey gland operations are at present being carried out by other surgeons who have learned his methods. He fears that English surgeons will be handicapped owing to the anti-vivisection laws, under which monkeys are not allowed to be operated upon without a license. The only gland operation permissible in England is the one in which a gland is taken from a person who has died suddenly, and it must be used within six hours. He points out that it is impossible for a person to develop instincts; physical or mental, from the animal from'which a gland is taken. The ideal age is between 10 and 12, and children show a greater force of energy and intelligence when they reach adult age. Unless a man Is treated within four or five years of his decline he does not fully renew _ his vitality.-—Australian Press Association.
