PLANT OF OPIUM.
■ o FOUND IN STEAMER’S HOLD. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 18. Customs officials found about £OO worth of opium secreted in one of the holds of the steamer Pleiodon, at Miramar wharf. It was contained in tins wrapped in canvas. The steamer has 39 Chinese among her crew.
