A parliamentary return of the contributions to Britain by the dominions towards naval defence, according to the 1927-2 S Estimates, shows that Britain provided £58,000,000, Canada 1,275,000 dol, Australia £5,738,000, New Zealand £607,000 (including £125,000 as the first instalment of the contribution for the Singapore base), South Africa £125,000.
