PALMERSTON NOTES.

(From Odr Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, April 16. Tho finish up of the bowling season took place on Saturday afternoon' when there was a good attendance, including ladies. The green was heavy, owing to rain during the early morning, but a mixed game of about a dozen heads took place. After refreshments, provided by tho ladies. Miss M‘Ritchie, president of the Ladies’ Club, presented to Mr William M'Grcgor, president of the gentlemen’s club, a handsome travelling rug. Mr M'Gregor feelingly replied. Prizes won during the season were then presented, a« follows: Singles, gold modal presented by Mr Robert Mathcson, and bowling hag presented by the club, to Mr T Pickett, who •won tho medal two years in succession; runner-np, Mr William M'Gregor. who won a measurer; doubles, Messrs J. M‘Ritchie and J. Lang, a bowling bag each : runnersup. Messrs W MTCenney, jun., and W B Galloway. a measurer each. Ladies’ singles, Mrs W. M‘Leod. a gold brooch presented by Mr Robert Matheson; ladies’ doubles, Mesdames Korner nnd Stenhouse, gold brooches presented by Mr James Black. The president (Mr William M‘Grezor) presented the banner, which was won by Hampden, to Mr A. A. M’Williatn. president of that club.
