TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —Those remarks of your contributor " Civis" concerning conscientious objectors are very interesting, but how is he going to reconcile them with the principles of Protestantism ? I thought that if Protestantism stood for anything it stood for the rights of the individual conscience against external authority, lay or Conscientious objectors to military service are, no doubt, troublesome people to have about, but how can Protestants logically take exception to them ? —I am, etc., BItUIM.
