THE DAWES PLAN
PAYMENTS DUE BY GERMANY. ITALY AGAINST MODIFICATION. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) ROME, April 8. The presence of Mr Parker Gilbert for the purpose of an interview with Count Volpi, simultaneously with . the visit of the German Minister of Finance (Dr Koehler), naturally leads to the inference that the Dawes Plan is under consideration. The Italian press forestalls discussion by refusing to countenance any modification of Germany’s payments not connected with a reduction in the payment of Italy’s war debts.—Australian Press Association.
