EFFECT ON SHIPS’ HULLS. EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ) LONDON. March 21. Mr W. C. Bridgeman (First Lord of the Admiralty told Commander Kenworthy in the House of Commons that experiments were being carried out on scale with models in tanks to test bombs from aircraft designed to explode under water on the hulls of ships. The American experiments were also being watched. It was not in the public interest to reveal the results. Commander Ken worthy: “ Are you aware that the American experiments have shown that largo bombs from aircraft could disable and sink the most modern ships? Are experiments with models in tanks sufficient?” Mr Bridgeman replied: “ All our experiments are not made with models in tanks.”—A. and N.Z. am! Sydney Sun Cable.
