CLOTHES CARE.
Like everything else in this li£e, clothes are the better for an occasional rest, and garments that are worn alternately with others retain (heir smartness and shape far longer than these which are worn more or less continuously. This is specially true of stockinette. Wear a jumper suit, for days on end and it wilj sag and bulge. But roll ; t lengthways, put it in a drawer for a few days in between times, pud it will tend to recover its shape. Unfortunately this rest cure is not efficacious in the case of the nioro open-knitted woollens, which, when they drop, are shapeless for ever. Dust is the groat enemy of cloth and felt. Do not rely alone upon vour clothes brush, but. wield a small cane upon the clothes at frequent intervals, and keep a piece of fine sandpaper at hand to rub off small stains from felt hats at they appear. Bo sure cupboards and wardrobes are absolutely free from damp. Silk inevitably rots in too moist an atmospshere. and both cotton and linen become mildewed. Place worn clothes on a hanger immediately after removal, but leave them hanging in the room and do not put them away in the wardrobe. Dresses that have been worn all day, and perhaps under a coat, are creased and affected by _ the warmth of the body. If thc v are given an hour or two in the air they freshen up and more or less iron out their own creases. Otherwise those creases develop into permanent lines.
