Cutten, S.M., said he would answer with a story. Years ago in Melbourne, ho said, there was an epidemic of burglaries. Someone went to Mr Purves, Q.C., and asked: “ Can I shoot any burglar I find in my house?” The Q.C. replied: “First shoot your burglar' and then ask me about it.” “ And that is my answer to you,” said Mr Cutten. Previously, when he was expressing his appreciation of the music, Mr Cutten had said; “1 regard the playing of cards as wicked, so, of course, I go into the other room and ja/.z.”
