FIRES.
SIX-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. (Per United Press Association.) WAIROA, March 19. Shortly before 5 o’clock this morning a fire was discovered in a six-roomed residence in North Clyde. The flames had a good hold when the brigade arrived, and the building was doomed. The residence, which was owned by Mr E. Munro, and unoccupied, was insured in the Guardian office. The amount is unavailable. DAIRY FACTORY BURNED DOWN. (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 19. Information has been received at New Plymouth that the Cape Egmont dairy factory was destroyed by fire early {his morning. The factory was a wooden building, erected about 30 years ago. The origin of the fire is a complete mystery. It apparently started in the butter room. A quantity of produce was destroyed, but some cheese in a concrete storeroom was saved, though possibly it is damaged. The boiler room was also saved. - The factory and contents were insured for £11,'300 in the Phoenix office. No further particulars are available.
