SUBMARINE S 4
RAISED TO THE SURFACE. EIGHT BODIES ON BOARD. (Preeg Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) NEW YORK, March 17. Advice from Provincetown (Massachusetts) states that the S 4 was raised to the surface to-day. Eight bodies are still on board.— A. and N.Z. Cable.
On December 17 last submarine S 4 was rammed and sunk in a collision with the destroyer Pauling. Divers descended, and were in communication with the entombed crew; but rescue operations had to be abandoned on account of bad weather, and all perished.
