OTAGO CENTRE MEETING. The committee of the Dunedin Bowling Centre met last evening, the president (Mr D. M. Tastier) occupying the chair. There were also present: Messrs R. H. Todd, W. Connor, W Millin, J. Allan, A. J. Sullivan, J. Tonkin, R. H. Ledlio, J. Al'Gregor, J. Haig, H. Rowley, W. Monaghan, W. J. Worthington, and G. L. Scott. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BOWLERS. In regard to the champion of champions competition on March 2 and 3, it was agreed that the Dunedin Club be asked to lend its green for the fixture. The ladies annual bowling tournament was commenced yesterday morning with the Singles Competition, for which record entries had been received. Mr D. la. tier (president of the Dunedin Centre) was present on the North-East Valley greensand wished the ladies an enjoyable and successful tournament. Mis b. CHRISTCHURCH, February 20. .A five rinks match between the Victorian bowlers and a Christchurch team to-day had a very exciting finish. It was a neck-and-neck contest all the way. the aggregates taken at varioiis stages of the game showing only the smallest margins, and when four rinks had finished all the bowlers gathered round to see the fifth rink play the last two heads, the score standing at 21 —12 against the Australians. This, however, left the Victorians three points to the good on the whole match, and when they secured a single ou the twentieth head very few gave the local players a chance.
