Tho annual general meeting of the Returned Soldiers’ Choir took place on February 8, at the club rooms, when the eighth annual report was read and adopted. There was a good attendance of members and many matters of interest were discussed. Addressing tho members, the chairman (Mr P. S. Anderson) stated that the general opinion was that the standard of performance had greatly improved, and this was due, mainly to the ability of the conductor, Mr J. T. Leech. During the past year the choir, besides the three subscribers’ concerts, gave concerts outside the district namely, Gore. Waikouaiti, and Mosgicl, and the Sanatorium at Wakari and the Montecillo Home were also visited. Mr Leech stated that while he was particularly pleased with the improvement shown by the choir, he intended to make this com ing year an outstanding one, not only in regards improvement in singing, but in the production of new and unusual part gongs which have not boon previously heard in Dunedin.
