A SHARP EARTHQUAKE
VANCOUVER ISLAND SHAKEN. TWO TIDAL WAVES REPORTED. (Press Association —By Telegraph— Copyright ) OTTAWA, February 9. (Received Feb. 10, at 9 p.m.) Vancouver Island was shaken by an earthquake at 4 o’clock this morning It was accompanied by a rumble which wakened thousands of people. The shock was sharpest at Bamfield cable station, where fishermen reported two tidal waves. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
