Corns lifted right out Cutting corns is useless. Knives are dangerous, and shaving the top off a com does not affect the root at all. It is the pointed root which presses on the nerves and causes pain. Caustics are equally useless. The only way with an obstinate com is Radox. After soaking your corn in a footbath containing a level tablespoonful of Radox Bath Salts you will be able to lift the whole com out painlessly, root and all.
