REORGANISATION DECIDED ON. MODERN WEAPONS FROM BRITAIN. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright i LONDON, January 25. The Lisbon correspondent of The Times states that the army is being reorganised in order to reduce the cadres and to* rearm the forces with more modern weapons. The reductions affect 500 officers, the new peace strength being 4100 officers and 23,000 of other ranks, and the mobilisation strength 8000 officers and 240,000 of other ranks, entailing an expenditure of £250,000 in addition to Budget army estimates. The arms, as far as possible, will be obtained from Britain.—The Times.
