Further reductions by over 38,000 ui the number of persons unemployed 's recorded by the Ministry of Labour. For the week ended January 16 the number of men, women, and boys unemployed was 1,193,000. which is the lowest recorded for the corresponding date of any year since 1920. The Industrial Transference Board, which was recently appointed to consider the question of finding work m other parts of the country and the dominions for unemployed workers, particularly miners in areas where unemployment is acute, is making a thorough preliminary survey before visits are paid to the areas.
