PROPOSAL OF COMPANY. FAST ATLANTIC CROSSING. WASHINGTON, January 11. The construction of six passenger ships of 35,000 tons each, costing £4,250,000, to cross the Atlantic in four clays is planned by the newly-organised Transoceanic Corporation of the United States. This company is a subsidiary of the Brown Bovere Electrical Corporation. Its chairman, Mr Lawrence Wilder, says that the company is willing to furnish £10,000,000, if the United States Shipping Board will advance a loan of £18.000,000. The board is submitting the proposal to the Government.
