A NEW FIGHTING ’PLANE
SLOTTED WINGS PITTED. MACHINES FOR NAVY. LONDON, January 11. The Admiralty is replacing the present single-seater Blackburn “ Dart ” aeroplane with an improved type of torpedocarrying ’plane named the “ Blackburn Ripon.” It is a two-seater ’plane, and the situation of the cockpits enables t£e observer and machine-gunner, behind the pilot, to protect the ’plane from attacks. It is fitted with the new slotted wing antistalling device, and may be converted to a seaplane.
