(Received Jan. 20, at 11 p.m.) There is a possibility that the Government may take advantage of the draft, ing of the new Franchise Bill conferring votes on women of 21 to revive a former provision under which persons in receipt of poor law relief were not allowed :t* vote. ft is urged that the Bill will thus be rendered more agreeable to those Government supporters who are not enthusiastic about the extension of the franchise.—A. and N.Z.
