The Kamo sailed last evening for Timaru and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington and Auckland. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Caro line sailed yesterday afternoon for Bluff, where the remainder of her London cargo will be discharged. The vessel will afterwards load wool and refrigerated cargo at New Zealand ports for London. She is expected at Port Chalmers towards the end of this month. The collier Canopus was docked at fort Chalmers yesterday morning for cleaning and painting. The vessel, which is unoer going annual overhaul, will sail early next week for Westport. The Corlnna is now due at D nedm tomorrow from Wellington with general cargo and Island fruit. Sho is timed to sail tomorrow evening direct for New Plymouth. Tho Kurow- is now expected at Dunedin on Saturday from Auckland, via ports. She will proceed hence to Bluff, and will re.urn to this port on January 26 to load general cargo for East Coast ports and Auckland. The Kahlka left Gisborne on Tuesday night direct for Dunedin. Sho is due tomorrow, and will load general cargo for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. The C. and D. Line's motor ship Port Dunedin arrived at Wellington yesterday from Lyttelton to complete Homeward load- * Union liner Marama arrived at Wellington on Tuesday morning from Sydney with passengers, mails, and cargo. The Marama is limed to sail at 11 a.m. to-mor-row on the return voyage. The Gallic was to leave New Plymouth yesterday for Wanganui roadstead, to continue loading. The Waipahi is to leave Sydney on January 24 tor Fiji, and cluars Suva for Auckland with a fruit cargo on February 3. The Karetu, from Newcastle direct, is due at Lyttelton this evening. On discharging her load of coal she will return to NewThe Shaw, Savill liner Athenic is now loading at Lyttelton for London. The vessel is due at Wellington to-morrow, and will sail finally from that port on January 27 for Southampton and London, via Panama. The Walkawa will load at Vancouver, San Francisco, .and Los Angeles about the end of the month and the beginning of February for New Zealand ports, including Bluff. SUSSEX DELAYED AT LYTTELTON. The Union Company advises that the Sussex is being delayed at Lyttelton owing to a shortage of waterside labour. She is expected to sail on Saturday for Timaru and Dunedin to discharge a quantity of merchandise from Calcutta and Penang. The vessel is due at this port about January 24. THE CANADIAN PROSPECTOR. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. advise that the Canadian Prospector is to leave Lyttelton to-day for Timaru and Dunedin to discharge the remainder of her general cargo from Halifax and load products for New York, Boston, and Halifax. The vessel is to sail on Monday for Wellington, Napier, and Auckland to complete loading. WAIKOUAITI LEAVES SYDNEY. Advice received by the Union Company states that the Waikouaitl left Sydney at 10 p.m. on Monday with a large shipment of general cargo for discharge at Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Timaru. Her freight for this port includes transhipments ex the Tanda, Orama, Moreton Bay, Jervis Bay, Changte, Tango Maru, Madras Maru, Tasman, and Chitral. The Waikoualti is due here on Tuesday next. TUG FOR NEW PLYMOUTH. Fourteen tenders have been received by the New Plymouth Harbour Board for the construction of the proposed tug-dredger Ngamotu. The time for tendering expired last month, and in accordance with the hoard’s instructions the tenders are now being considered by the resident engineer, who is to submit a report to the next meeting of the board. The tenders include eight Scottish firms, four English, one Australian, and a British firm in China. The lowest is a firm of repute which has used the board’s plans and specifications in th’eir entirety. The time for building and delivery varies from eight to 14 months. WHITE STAR LINER BALTIC. Tho White Star liner Baltic, which is cmplayed in the Atlantic service, now carries cabin passengers. The Baltic has always carried first, second, and third-class passengers. Under the new arrangement, while her first-class quarters have been remodelled, her second-class accommodation, which was refitted a few years ago, has been devoted to tourist third cabin, which is being operated a 8 a feature of all voyages. CITY OF WINCHESTER FOR LONDON. Carrying a full shipment of wool and other products, the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s chartered steamer City of Winchester left Port Chalmers yesterday morning for London, via the Panama canal. The vessel’s freight was loaded at North Island ports, Timaru, and Port Chalmers. When the City of Winchester cleared the harbour she was drawing 24ft llin of water forward and 24ft Sin aft. Sho is due at London about February 27.
