THE HIM WORLD

A SENSATION CAUSED. PRODUCER TURNING MOSLEM. LOS ANGELES, January 5 A sensation has been cause'd in the film world by Rex Ingram, ranked as the world’s second greatest producer, turning Moslem. Ingram has retired to Nice, where he has built an Oriental mansion and surrounded himself with Arabs and Duddhistic sculpture. One reason given is that his artistic ideals are at variance with big box office mentality. An alternative reason advanced is that Ingram has seen the great D. W. Griffith become a screen shadow, and he has left before a similar fate overtakes him.
