VISIT TO NELSON. A CIVIC RECEPTION. (Per United Press Association.) NELSON, December 13. Mr L. S. Amery "’as accorded a civic reception by a large enthusiastic gatherinf of citizens this afternoon. ’X lie Mayor (Mr W. J. Moi'fatt) and Mr tt. Atmore, 31. P.. gave addresses of welcome. Later Mr Amery opened the biological central station at the Cawthron Institute of Scientific Rcesarch inaugurated under the Empire Marketing Board scheme. Mr Amery then visited the Nelson College to present the Riddiford enp (awarded to the best secondary school cadet corps in Ne.w Zealand). Ho said that the Nelson boys’ keenness n winning the cup again and again would be reflected in all their activities. This evening Mr Amery was the guest at a complimentary dinner given by Mr H. R. Duncan (chairman of the Cawthron Trust Board). Mr Amery loft for Wellington at 9 o’clock this evening.
