STORM IN WELLINGTON.
HEAVY DAMAGE REPORTED. WASHOUT ON RAILWAY LINE. (Per United Press Association.! WELLINGTON, November 29. A southerly gale raged last night, with heavy rain, and continues this morning. The railway line along the harbour vms partly washed out, and trains were blocked for some time. Shipping was interfered with/and the telegraph lines interrupted. A motor lorry was blown over on the Queen’s drive, and much damage was done to gardens. This blow is worse than any last winter, and is in keeping with the weather all this month, which has been far more like winter than spring. The rainfall is nearly double the average.
