BOXING.
FEATHER-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. Already tickets for the Johnny LeckieTommy Griffiths professional boxing contest next Saturday night are selling rapidly, and there should be a record ) crowd at the Drill Hall to witness the i encounter of two of the, finest featherweights New Zealand has ever produced. A purse of £l5O and the feather-weight title, held by Johnny Leckie, will be in dispute. Both boys are in wonderful fettle, and in training work-outs during the past week have shown to rare advantage. It is difficult to pick the winner, but whoever gets the verdict will have to ' fight for all he is worth, and patrons should be assured of a stirring contest, which bids fair to be an epic in the local history of the boxing game. Already Leckie is being acclaimed as a wonderbov, and his showing against such a clever and elusive boxer as Griffiths should give some line'as to what may be expected of him in the future. If, as is expected, the bout goes the full 15 rounds, and if it does not. it is certain to be crammed full of incident The ring will be elevated to u height of tour feet, and special lighting wilT be arranged over the ring.
