THE WARATAHS IN SCOTLAND. NORTH SCOTLAND BEATEN. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, October 19. The New South Wales Rugby team beat North Scotland by 21 points to 15. Spirited raids by the home team kept the Waratahs on the defensive for the first twenty minutes of the game. Then Gordon, racing over half the field on each occasion, scored two clcan-cut tries, Lawton converting. Lawton, carving his way from midfield, scored a try and converted it himself. Findlay from a scrimmage got over for an unconverted try. At half-time the Waratahs were 18 points, North Scotland nil. Two minutes after the -cstart Wilson scored the Scotsmen’s first try near the flag, but Maxwell failed to convr-' it. The Scotsmen for some time were seen at their best. Kelly scored a try Inch Wilson, converted. Then Land dropped a lovely goal, and Heaps quickly added a try, which was not converted. Findlay was forced to retiro' owing_ to an injury to the head through a collision with a member of his own side. In the last few minutes Lawton kicked a penalty goal. The Scotsmen sprinted, and in the fight were beaten by the Waratahs’ cool, deliberate combination. The final score was: Waratahs 21, North Scotland 15. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
