PRINCESS THEATRE.

The current programme presented by Mr Gayle Wyer and his Band Box Revue Company at the Princess Theatre consists of a musical comedy farce in one act taking up half of the programme, and a variety of vaudeville turns which occupy the remainder of the time. “ Alias Mr Wright,” is the title of the revue, which is an entertainment in itself. Ward Lear takes the part of Harry Wright, a millionaire and collector of antiques. His adventures, which are shared by Charles Norman and several other members of the company, are of a melodramatic nature, and the general mix-up which heralds the conclusion of the playlet is extremely funny. Patter is the main feature of the revue, but songs and dances are interspersed, and the whole effect is decidedly entertaining. Perhaps the most popular song number is “ Sleepy Time Girl,” and others deserving of mention are “ Loud Speakin’ Papa,” “ Let’s Talk About My Sweetie,” and “ All the World’s Waiting for the Sunrise.” The vaudeville turns, which constitute the first half of the programme were of the customary high standard, Charles Norman and Sam Ward, as usual, being the most prominent fun-makers.
