ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (Per United Press A ssociation.; WELLINGTON, October 17. The annual conference of the Baptist Union of New Zealand was continued today. The greater part of the morning was occupied with a discussion of the report of the Home Missions Board. The report stated that the board recognised the embarrassment of having several funds operating, but believed that a special homo mission forward movement fund was most urgent and necessary. The board was asked to bring down definite- proposals. At to-day’s session the fciustentation report was given by the general secretary (the Rev. D. Colder), and the Press and Literature Committee report by the Rev. J. Laird. The latter’s proposals were remitted to the incoming executive. The following committee was appointed to go into the matter of fire insurance of the churches: Messrs Andrews, Dearsby, Grave, Butt ley, Lambourne, the Rev. L. U, Dusficld. It was agreed that the matter of redrafting the rules of the .\nnuity Fund be left to the committee. Resolutions adverse to artificial hare coursing and the Gaming Amendment Bill were passed. The Board of Advice was constituted as follows The president, the secretary, and Air J. R- Carey.
