PALMERSTON NOTES.

PALMERSTON, October 6. The .total rainfall registered at Palmerston District High School for the month of September was 1.714 in. There were four wet days from the 12th of the month, when the school reopened. The prevailing wins were north-east to east. Mr W. M. Wilson’s gange at Glenpark registered 196 points of rain for the month of September. The local horticultural show was held on Wednesday in ideal weather. Hierc were large entries and a splendid exhibition. A young bachelor suggests that a class for single ladies should be, included in tho baking and cooking section, thus giving the bachelors an idea of tho young ladies’ housekeeping capacities. Perhaps the society will take vote for next programme.
