CRINOLINES AGAIN—BUT ONESIDED.

Crinolines (says the Daily Chronicle), in returning to fashion, continually showhow different they are from the crinolines of our grandmothers. A new type, instead of completely hiding the ankles and only just letting the feet peep out, while touching the ground on one side, is quite short on the other, reaching little below the knee. These one-sided crinolines have a very modern look, while still retaining a certain ‘'picture” air. Sometimes the garment has the whalebone stiffening of the crinoline proper, but more often the fullness is produced by many layers of lace over a taffeta foundation.’ Not all one-sided crinoline dresses end in a train; others intended for leas formal occasions have the usual hem, ending an inch or two from the ground on the long crinoline eide.
