The combination of velveteen and check kasha complete this charming mode. Braid trimming completes the coat, which is tied at neck, giving a cosy effect. Material required, 2i yards of 38-inch for dress and lit yards of 54-inch for coat. To fit 36inch bust. Other sizes, 34, 38, and 40-inch bust. Paper Pattern, Is.

The correspondents vouch for it, and I have much pleasure in printing it: —An old black velvet frock can bo made to look like new by washing it well with soap and warm water, then thoroughly rinsing it, and while still in the last rinsing water place on a coat hanger and lift the garment out without wringing. When dry, the velvet is perfectly clean, and looks like new. Choose a nice sunny day, with a good breeze blowing, and you will have a good result.
