BALLOON RACING
AN INTERNATIONAL CONTEST. (Presa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ) NEW YORK, September 11. The international balloon race started from Detroit on Saturday in the direction of the Atlantic. Spain, England,, and Switzerland entered one each, Italy, France, and Belgium two, and the United States and Germany three.—A. and N.Z. Cable. FIVE COMPETITORS COME DOWN. VANCOUVER, September 12. (Received Sept. 12, at 11.30 p.m.) A Detroit message states that five balloons in the international race came down on Sunday night. They were the Belgian, Swiss, German, United States Army, and French entries. —A. and N.Z. and Sydney Sun Cable.
