DEATH OF WOMAN AT 00. A heroine of the Indian Mutiny (Mrs Mar pa ret Diana Barnes) recently died at Oxford, aped 00, Her husband (Mr Georpc Car nay Baines) was one of the officers selected to administer the Punjab, and took charpe as commissioner oi the Gis-Sntjej, or Umbal'a Division. Durinp (be most critical weeks Mis Barnes was at, Kasauli. a hill station imar Simla, whence every man, soldier or civilian, had bei n withdrawn to t inballa, llio army ie-adquarters.
