WIRELESS STATIONS.
WAVE BANDS DECIDED UPON. (Special to Daily Times.) WELLINGTON, June 29. Iho Secretary of the General Post Office announces that the department has given careful consideration to the question cf the wave lengths of the New Zealand broadcasting stations. It was reported that the Commonwealth authorities ntended to review tho wave-lengths of *be Australian stations, consequently action on the part of tho New Zealand authorities has been delayed in order that tho wavelengths of tho Stations of both countries should not clash. As some months will elapse before action is taken in Australia, it has been decided to make an alteration forthwith, and tho following band has been decided upon:— IYA, Auckland, 333 metres. 2YA, Wellington, 420 metres. 3YA, Christchurch, 306 metres.
4YA, Dunedin, 463 metres. The change at Auckland. Christchurch, and Dunedin will take place at an early date, which will bo duly announced by tho stations concerned. The old .Wellington station will continue on its present wavelength until tho opening of the new station, which will operate on 420 metres. In fixing tho foregoing wave-lengths due weight has been given to technical considerations. in addition to tho matter 'f clearance between the wave-lengths of tho Dominion stations, and between the latterand those of tho Australian stations.
