Court Prido of the’ Leith, A.0.F.. hold its fortnightly meeting on Wednesday last, when a largo gathering of the members greeted the 0.11., Bro. It, S. Twosc. A (considerable amount of business for the welfare of the court was transacted. The district secretary gave an interesting account of his visits to the courts at Timarn last week, when, with one exception, all the courts in the South Canterbury District wore present. The D.S. addressed the Tiinavu members on consolidation of the Sick and Funeral Funds. Three new members were admitted, and the officers were congratulated on the impressive manner in which the ceremonies were carried out. Following the close of the meeting a card tournament, married versus single members, was held, and resulted in a win for (he single members. In Great Britain there are about 3000 pictures theatres. In the remaining K pean countries the numbers arc as follows; France, 2400; Italv. 2200; Austria. 800; Belgium, 773; Scandinavia. 7C3; Poland, 300; Holland, 227: Hungary, 1P0; Spain. 155; Czeeho-Slovakia. 23; Switzerland, 123; Jugo-Slavia, 117; Turkey, 32; and the Balkans. 23. Africa. Australia, and Asia have altogether 1351. and the American total is divided as follows: United States, 13,000; Canada, 750; South America 1200; and Central America 500.
