THE TRUNK MYSTERY

SCOTLAND YARD BAFFLED, DEFINITE CLUE LACKING. (Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, May 16. (Received May 17, at 9 p.m.) Scotland Yard is faced with a most difficult task in connection with the trunk murder. The scene of the inquiries has shifted considerably; but the police have not yet obtained a definite lead. They admit that each day adds to the murderer’s chance of avoiding arrest. The latest theory is that a chauffeur is concerned, and also that the murder and dismemberment of the body occurred in the Marylebono district.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
