RUGBY FOOTBALL
MANIOTOTO SUB-UNION. A meeting of the Maniototo Rugby Football Sub-union was held at Ranfurly. the President (Mr A. Aitcheson) occupying the chair. Other member present were Messrs William Davis, J. Fraser, RMee, J. M'Gill. William Howie, FM'Knight, and R. Gibson. W Thurlow, J. Thurlow, D. M Lennan, and j. Smith were temporarily re-graded, and H. M'Skimming was graded as a First Grade player. , , It was decided that no transfers or clearances be accepted by telegram J. Darling’s transfer from the Gimmerburn to Naseby Club was granted ■ The Waipiata Club was granted light blue as its club colours. A letter was received from Mr bimonsen informing the union that be bad been successful in forming a Referees’ Association. The association made the following proposals: —That a sum of £2 2s be allowed for petty expenses; that the referees’ charges be pooled, and that a charge be made to all clubs at the end or each round, and where one club has two teams in the competition it be treated as two clubs; that referees are admitted free of charge to all grounds. —The recommendations were agreed to on the motion of Messrs Davis and Gibson. Mr Davis submitted his report on the delegates’ meeting in Dunedin, and stated that he was informed that the Dunedin Referees’ Association would supply a referee for any match on payment of actual expenses. Mr G. Graham reported having ordered off F. Christie in the Hyde-Naseby match, and in walking off Christie had struck him. —Christie was suspended till the end of the 1929 season. An account of £3 was passed for payment.' The following are the results of matches played on Saturday last:—Becks 9, Naseby 3; Ida Valley 13, Waipiata nil; Patearoa 24, Kyeburn nil; Naseby 31, Ranfurly nil.
