GENEVA CONFERENCE
THE SOVIET DELEGATION. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, May 2. (Received May 3, at 7.40 p.m.) The Riga correspondent cf The Times says that the Soviet delegation has left for Geneva. The leaders explain to the Russian masses that the decision to participate does not mean a change of attitude towards the League. The Government expects the conference to be a fiasco, and the Soviet is participating merely to disarm its capitalistic enemies, who otherwise would blame the Soviet’s non-participation for any failure. The newspaper Izvestia declares that the delegation is going to Genova without any hope of tangible results, because the agenda touches none of the real causes of tiie world's economic difficulties. The Soviet does not intend to concede anything towards a relaxation of the foreign trade monoply.—-The Times.
