An eccentric inhabitant of tho Swiss canton of Schwyz named Pfister, who has died, aged 80 years, spent many years in constructing his own coffin, which he carved with texts from the Bible. Pfister bought a plot in the local cemetery. He had his grave dug and cemeted, and tho coffin placed inside in readiness for his death. He said that h" did not wish to leave such an important matter to neglectful relatives.
