EXPERIMENTAL ROADWAY.
TEST OF BITUMEN. HIGHWAY BOARD’S PROPOSAL, (Pzb United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. The Main Highways Board propeees to construct an experimental roadway at Hornby, 12 chains in length and 18ft wide, with a view to testing different bitumen mixtures. The whole cost of the work will be borne by the board. Appli* cation for permission to conduct the ex* periments was made to the Paparua County Council yesterday, and the conn* cil, in granting its consent, expressed gratification with the board’s proposals.
