Bay Lodge held its regular meeting in the Coronation Hal), St. Kilda, on Tuesday night, A.D. Bro. Wilson presiding over a fair attendance. G.G. Bro. Watson, P.G.G. Bro. Reid, P.D.P. Bro. Faulds, and P.A. Bro. Smith acting as a deputation were present to bring before the lodge the advisability of forming a juvenile branch of the order in South Dunedin. Bro. FanWs) bad no hesitation , in saying that simitar results could be made by tbe formation of a juvenile lodge \ in the south end. After hearing the j other members of the deputation tho j lodge appointed a small sub-committee to i discuss the question with the (other lodges \ in the district, and to report the result of their deliberations on lodge quarter night. The syllabus item for tho evening being “Growlers’ Night,” several mem- - b'ers gave vent to their feelings on matters they did not agree with. A quoit competition was also held. Bro. J. P. Whitby being the lucky winner. The 1 loyal toasts were given and responded to by P.G.G. Bro. Reid and Bro. Smith, after which refreshments were handed round, and tho lodge thereafter closed. , The regular meeting of Royal Oak Lodge was held in the lodge room, Caversham. A.D. Bro. Hunt presiding. D.P. Bro. Mayboo was present officially, and received a warm welcome. Reports were received in connection with official visits paid to Linden and Enterprise Lodges, and also the School of Instruction carried out by the It.A. Chapter. One candidate was presented and duly initiated into tho order. The syllabus commit- , tee reported that everything was ar- | ranged for the progressive euchre tournament, and that A.D. Bro. Hunt and Sec. ! Bro. Churchill had presented prizes for same. D.P. Bro. Maybee replied to the toast of the visitors. The fortnightly meeting of Enterprise Lodge was held on Wednesday night. The boisterous nature of tbe weather and the lure of election night mitigated against a good attendance. The ladies’ night as arranged had to bo cancelled owing to the hall being used as a polling booth for tbe municipal election. One candidate was proposed as a financial member and one as honorary. Tbe balance sheet of the Booklet Committee was presented to tl lodge, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Bro. Rustbridge on the .success attained and for the trouble he bad gone to. Bro. Ruston and Bro. i Bartlett, of the Bay Lodge, favoured with I a visit. The usual toasts having been j honoured the lodge was closed. | All Nations Lodge held its regime j meeting at Port Chalmers on Tuesday, , being presided over by A.D. Bro. j M'Grcgnr. Routine business was duly : carried out, and sick pay to the amount ; of LC, 10s passed for payment. It was decided to send a letter of congratulations to Bro. J. Crawford, who had celebrated his diamond jubilee, three generations of his family being members of this lodge. P.G.P. Bro. Hnrlnnd, on behalf of tbe lodge, presented Treasurer Bro. M - Alpine with an inscribed fountain pen. In doing so Bro. Ilerlnnd spoke of tbe sterl ing service Bi'n. M'Alpine had rendered luring his 2~> years’ membership for 23 o) which he had neeupied the office of tren surer, and also stressed the fact that be was also found to be a very live nir her on all social committees, etc., besides stretching fortii a helping bund to all young officers. Several other members also spoke in glowing terms of Bro. M‘Alpine’s useful service.
