JOHN M'GLASHAN COLLEGE
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the John M’Glashan College Beard of Governois was held on Friday evening, the Rev. J. Kilpatrick being in the chair. After the adoption of the annual report and balancesheet had been earned, officers for the year 1927 were appointed. The Rev. J. Kilpatrick was unanimously re-elected chairman, and Mr T. C. Ross was re-elected to the office of vice-chair-man. The Principal reported that there had again been a substantial increase in the number of boarders, and that the house was at present full. The results for the December examinations were very satisfactory Three boys, all in their third year of secondary work, had passed the matriculation and medical preliminary examinations, and another had completed the latter examination. J. R. Elder, last year s dux, had been awarded the Lissie Rathbone Scholarship for Otago in English and history. Five boys had been granted higher leaving certificates at the end of 1926. Mr W. G. M’Clymont, M.A., senior scholar in history, joined the staff of the secondary school at the beginning of the year. Professor T, D. Adams congratulated the principal and staff on the results of the work for 1926.
